How do I setup custom nameservers?

Nameservers must be registered with the holding registrar of the domain in question. For example, if your domain is registered through the eNom registrar, then your nameservers must be registered with eNom for them to be globally available for name resolution.

If your domain is not managed by Crucial Web Hosting, we can not assist you in creating custom nameservers. You will either need to go to your registrar directly to setup your nameservers, or you can transfer your domain name to Crucial Web Hosting.

If you transfer your domain name to Crucial, you will then be able to create custom nameservers by logging into your account. There is a $5.99 charge to transfer your domain to Crucial Web Hosting, but this charge also adds a full year to the end of your registration period.

The domain name transfer takes very little time to complete. Many are done in the same 24 hour period. If you would like to initiate your domain transfer, please visit the domain transfer page.

After you have initiated a transfer request, you will then receive an email at your Administrative contact email address that is specified for your domain name. This request will ask you to verify the domain name transfer request. If you accept the request, the transfer will automatically take place in 24-48 hours.

If you choose to not transfer your domain to Crucial Web Hosting, we will be unable to assist you in setting up custom nameservers and you will need to set those up yourself manually through your domain name registrar. You will need to consult their help systems if you are unable to do so. It would certainly be easiest to transfer to Crucial and handle it all through your account.
