Subdomains
A subdomain is a subsection of your website that exists as a subdirectory anywhere in your home directory. Subdomains use a prefix in conjunction with the domain name. For example, if the registered domain name is example.com, you could set up the subdomain prefix.example.com.
A great advantage to a subdomain is that it does not have to be registered, since it is technically just a directory of the main domain.
It is important to remember that it may take time for the subdomain to become recognized by other computers on the web.
Subdomains can be useful for creating unique user accounts for vanity, staging, or development domains. This is helpful if, for example, you have a blog, or any other type of website that uses a domain specifically titled for a user or development purpose.
This interface allows you to add new subdomains and manage existing subdomains.
Note: If you wish to disable the subdomain, or change the folder to which the subdomain directs visitors, click the Manage Redirect link in the Modify a Subdomain table.
