What are containers?

With traditional web hosting, hundreds or even thousands of clients share an entire server and the services it runs. The server itself typically has lower end hardware to keep the costs down.

Containers are different. We start with enterprise-class hardware and divide the server up in to smaller servers called containers. Each of these containers has a fixed number of clients isolated on it.

Each of these containers has guaranteed resources and its own set of services running. An easier way to picture it would be a number of small servers grouped together under one large, powerful server.

What's the difference between them?

The real difference between our shared, semi-dedicated, and dedicated containers comes down to two things: the number of clients on a container, and the number of containers on a server.

What plan is right for my Magento store?

That really depends on a number of factors, like how many products your store has, the number of visitors your website receives, etc. The following table is a general guideline based on our experience with Magento:
